Sunday 15th – Tuesday 17th
Alice Springs
We arrived back in the Alice in the early
afternoon. Plenty of time to set up camp. Monday, Jo and I did the tourist bit
and went to the Cultural Centre where there is an Art Gallery, Museum,
Performing Arts Centre and Aviation Museum. In the afternoon we went to the
Desert Park where they have preserved the natural arid environment. They have a
Birds of Prey show and several centres where the birds of that particular
environment are able to be seen. In some you can walk in while in others you
can see the birds through the glass. There is also a Nocturnal House where the
night animals are on display. Very hard to see them as it is almost dark.
Today, we have been preparing for the next
phase of the journey. Jo had a physio appointment and her elbow has much more
movement than when she was here last. Did our shopping, Jo had the car serviced,
rearranged our clothes (back to the winter bag!!) What a busy day!! It was -2
degrees here this morning.
Tomorrow we leave for Chambers Pillars (
south of Finke). Will probably be very cold there. No blog for a few days as we
will be out of phone range again!
