Alice Springs 8-9 June 2012

Friday 8th & Saturday 9th June – Alice Springs.
Yesterday we did a bit of sight seeing. Had lunch at Olive Pink Botanic Gardens as I was keen to see the Western Bower Bird. However, it did not show. Went back later in the afternoon while Jo was at the physio but missed it again. Jo’s arm is getting more mobile every day so that is good. She bought new boots and was so thrilled that she was able to lace them up all by herself!!
I went to the Reptile Park for an hour and had a really enjoyable time. The guy was happy to let me photograph to my heart’s content.
Today, I got up early. 8AM!!! And headed up to the gardens again. Saw the bower bird but again it was elusive. We had spent getting ready for the Tanami. Jo cleaning car and van and washing and ironing, Jan and Pat preparing the shopping list then shopping, Allan fixing all the problems. It took all day. The big problem when we got back was finding a place to put all the purchases.
Tomorrow we head up the Tanami so will be out of contact for 6-7 days
