March 26 -Echuca - Barham

While Allan and Pat spent the day with Allan's family aboard the EmmyLou, Jo and I did a drive to Baham and then back to Gunbower National Park. The Bridge over the Murray at Baham was supposed to be an engineering feat but it was being refurbished - about time too. Was just about falling down!!! We Had lunch at Cohuna and then attempted to follow the trail around Gunbower Island. It was supposed to be a great birding site! Well!! Did we have trouble! the route was really poorly signposted and we lost the trail several times. It was dry and most uninviting and disappointing.
On our way home, we drove in to see  Torrumbarry Weir and Lock 26. The weir has been refurbished and is really well presented with an information station alongside.
Had dinner with Allan, Pat, John, Elsa as they are heading back to Melbourne tomorrow.
