Wednesday 27th March Eco Boat Tour Barmah

Today Jo & I booked on the Kingfisher Eco Tour of Bamah Lake and the Murray River .Was hoping to get lots of bird shots but that wasn't the case. Lake Barmah was quite shallow so we only went a short distance on the lake before we headed upstream on the Murray. Apparently, the present course of the Murray is actually quite recent and there were two other courses before this one. Uplifts caused the changes. We noticed that the water was flowing quite swiftly and this is caused by the fact that the section of the Murray that we were in is actually going uphill so as we came back, we were really travelling - the water was going at 7 knots. Saw a number of Azure Kingfishers and a number of water birds.
This afternoon we decided to take the awning down really for an early departure in the morning. Just as well as we had a storm about 5PM. Jo was in the laundry so I was trying to get everything in our of the rain. Fortunately, we had an ensuite so just put everything in there. Rain cleared after 1/2 hour.
