Day 3

Friday 9th September 2011-09-09

Thargomindah – Bourke

It was fine this morning but water lying everywhere. I saw a Kingfisher and went for the camera but by the time I got back it was gone!! Headed back to Cunnamulla and then on to Bourke. We arrived here about 3 PM. There is a strong westerly wind blowing and it is quite cold. Lots of road kill again but more emus than kangaroos.

There is a bower bird nesting just outside the fence of the caravan park. Will try to photograph it in the morning if the weather is better. On the drive down today we saw a number of kites including two Letter-wing Kites. (Knew what it was, thanks to Chris S). Also saw my first Wedge-tailed Eagle.
